Forever & Always

Yesterday, I attended a dear friend's wedding. It was one of the most beautiful weddings I've ever been to. The scenery was gorgeous and the couple was even more gorgeous. But I gotta say, the best part of any wedding is the dancing. I'm always a bit shy at the start, saying things like "Nah, I couldn't", and "No, no, no...I'm a terrible dancer". However, once I get going, I cannot stop. It's like the floor is lava (remember that game?) and I simply can't stop, won't stop.

My sweet friend, Meg and I danced the night away while our guys sat on the sidelines, drank shirley temples, and pretended to be impressed by our less than stellar dance moves. Whatever, we rocked the dance floor.

As far as my outfit goes, I borrowed the vast majority of it from Mackenzie, my bff. After being out in the heat for 5 minutes, my beautifully curled hair deflated like a sad balloon but I thought I'd share a few pictures anyway!

Dress: Target Sweater: So old that I can't even remember Shoes: Ask Mackenzie

Ah, my Benjamin looks so handsome, doesn't he? I'm one lucky gal :]

Needless to say, I'm so happy for my dear friends, Justin and Katy and I wish them so much luck and a happy, happy marriage.

Love,
Mimi

P.s. I caught the bouquet. ;]

Shooby do beep bop

I love vintage everything. Even clothes. Most of the time, I love to shop at the Salvation Army or Value World. My sister and I make monthly trips to bring home treasures that no one else will have. I like to think I inherited this love of everything old from my sister. She is the vintage queen and she is perfect. You can meet her over at her place!

So anyway, not all of my clothes are used. In fact, the vast majority of them come from Forever 21 but I still love the monthly vintage buy.

Here's a picture of me from my brother's birthday party last week, snapped by a terrible phone camera because it's all I've got.

Headband: Forever 21 Shirt: Old Navy Pants: H&M Shoes: (not pictured) white vintage slip ons

As you can see, the quality is terrific and nothing is more classic then the dusty mirror shot. Oh well. My high-waisted pants were a hit, although they were very tight and uncomfortable. Beauty is pain, people. Don't forget it.

Love,
Mimi

To all two of you who follow me:

I apologize for never blogging. My life is non-stop. I really want to get into blogging though!

Today, I'm babysitting this sweet little guy...

He's the sweetest little bub and he's been sleeping for almost two hours!! Woo! He's the greatest napper ever. I have the pleasure of being with him for three days out of the week and I love almost every minute of it.

However, he is teething which means my life here looks a lot like this most of the time...

Coffee, coffee, and still more coffee.
I know, I look FABU. I'm currently rocking my boyfriend's tee ball jersey, basketball shorts, and greasy hair. Don't judge me. I don't always look like this. Perhaps when I'm all ready for church tonight, I'll post another picture with a better outfit.

Speaking of outfits, for the past two hours--instead of doing anything productive, of course--I have been playing with the H&M dressing room website. It's so much fun and I've put together so many outfits...for Fall. I can't wait for Fall. I am so done with 80+ degrees. I live for rain, 50 degrees, sweaters, and boots. Bring it on, any day now. Here's a couple of the outfits I came up with...

Obviously, I love a good collar. Can't wait to try something similar to this sometime in October!

Have a great day, my two followers!

Love, Mimi

Valentine's Day!

Today, my sweet boyfriend and I are celebrating Valentine's Day! He has a hockey game on the actual day so today is being spent doing lots of fun things. First, we went to Dixboro, Michigan and walked around the Dixboro General Store, where I bought some vidalia onion ranch dressing, dill beer bread mix, and a bacon and cheesespread mix. I also bought some potpourri tarts for my mom (lavender vanilla, tropical fruit, and honeydew melon). After that, we went to Moonwinks Cafe where we had a delicious little lunch. Then, we had tons of time to kill so we went and saw Chronicle. It's a really weird movie that I'm still not sure how I feel about. So now, we are gearing up to go to J. Alexander's for a wonderful dinner and then we are going to watch Lost because I am obsessed with it. I highly recommend it to anyone!

But all of this is beside the point... what I really want to say is that I love my Benjamin very much and I am so glad/lucky that he is mine. Can't wait to have many more Valentine's Day's with him :] <3

A Day In The Life

Mondays and Wednesdays are the most annoying days of my week. I'll tell you exactly why. At 9 am, I have math class. In my math class, we discuss math...which I hate. I also have no friends in that class. It's sad because I love making friends and I just haven't been able to because I don't care about making friends at 9 in the morning. So, from 9 am until precisely 10:54 am, I am in that god-forsaken class. Then, I mosey on over to my cute little coffee shop for a cup of mid-morning brew to wake my sleepy self up. I sit and do miscellaneous homework for an hour and a half to two hours, which is a blessing to have even that much time to myself. Then, at 1 pm, I am officially on shift and pouring drinks for--often times--sassy customers. This goes on for roughly 5 hours until I am able to close up and get home by 7. The evening time is nice because on Mondays, I watch The Bachelor with my family and on Wednesdays, I get to spend some time with my crazy handsome boyfriend! So tonight, that is exactly what I plan to do. I would love to have a nice dinner and watch a couple episodes of Lost (which I hate but have to finish). This blog is pointless.

Up On The Mountain

Can't stop listening to this song by The Welcome Wagon! Give it a listen!

I'm also getting very snuggly with my nephew today :]

My first post!

This is so exciting! I've never had my own blog in which to write down my own thoughts and I'm actually really, really excited about it!

So, I guess I should start with a little bit about myself. I work as a part-time barista in a cutesy little coffee shop. It's a lot of fun and I really love my job/co-workers. I'm also a part-time nanny for my sweet little nephew! He's a perfect angel baby and I cannot even express how much I love him and how much he means to me.

I'm a college Sophomore studying English. I'm hoping to become an Editor (but I'm also secretly hoping to write a bestseller). I have a lot of ideas swimming around in my head. My only road block is that I'm not very creative. SO, in a way, I'm hoping that this blog will be an outlet for me to hone my creative skills. Whether those skills consist of a weird recipe, crafting, or sharing any form of writing, we have yet to see. All I ask is that you follow along with me on this crazy (and hopefully creative) journey!
